Bordeaux Blend

A Bordeaux blend combines the classic grapes of Bordeaux — most often Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec in support. Blending balances structure and fruit: Cabernet brings tannin and aging potential, Merlot adds flesh and roundness. The style traveled from Bordeaux to Napa, where it produces the wines often labeled Meritage.
