Collection: Royal Tokaji

Royal Tokaji was founded in 1990 by celebrated wine writer Hugh Johnson and a small group of investors who saw an opportunity after communism collapsed in Hungary. They were the first foreign company to invest in the historic Tokaj region, sparking what's now called the "Tokaj Renaissance." The company owns some of Hungary's most prestigious vineyards, including Mézes Mály - one of only two Great First Growth sites classified by Prince Rákóczi II in 1700. While Tokaj built its reputation over centuries as "the wine of kings" with legendary sweet Aszú wines, Royal Tokaji produces everything from bone-dry Furmint that showcases pure volcanic terroir to ultra-rare sweet wines only made in exceptional vintages. Their state-of-the-art winery in the village of Mád combines 13th-century cellars with modern winemaking techniques, proving that respecting tradition doesn't mean being stuck in the past.
