WESTLAND DISTILLERY 8 YEARS OLD WATCHPOST AN AMERICAN BLENDED WHISKEY

Westland Distillery, Seattle's leading American single malt producer, built this 8-year-old blend by marrying its signature five-malt mashbill — aged in new oak and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks — with MGP grain whiskey finished in ex-bourbon barrels. The PX casks pull the whiskey toward dried fruit and confection, while the ex-bourbon barrels anchor it with vanilla and wood spice. Bottled at 42.5% ABV, the nose shows apricot, milk chocolate, and cherry pie; the palate delivers lemon curd, fudge, and a clean, lightly sweet finish. A portion of proceeds supports the Washington Trails Association.
