Fourth-generation winemaker Bernhard Ott has transformed his family's 28-hectare Wagram estate since 1995, converting vineyards to RESPEKT-certified biodynamic cultivation using compost preparations, cover crops, and homeopathic remedies rather than conventional fertilizers—a holistic approach that allows earlier harvests and truer expression of terroir. The Fass 4 Grüner Veltliner comes from loess soils characteristic of the Wagram region, where deep, wind-deposited sediments provide excellent drainage and mineral complexity for Austria's signature white grape. This vibrant expression opens with kumquat, passion fruit, and persimmon, transitioning mid-palate to savory mineral and spice with notes of heather and pine, finishing with impressive length.
