VILLA MAGGIO NERO D'AVOLA 2020

Organic certification defines Villa Maggio's approach to Nero d'Avola grown in the Hyblean Hills of southeastern Sicily, where red sandy soils with volcanic influence give the grape its characteristic depth. Planted in terrain the variety has occupied for centuries, the vines produce a full, darkly colored wine that opens with wild cherry and dried Mediterranean herbs, picks up smoky and earthy mid-palate notes, and closes with rustic tannins and lingering olive-tinged fruit.
