Luís Patrão and Eduarda Dias launched Vadio in 2005 after Patrão's 13 years leading red wine production at Esporão, farming 10 certified organic hectares in Vale D. Pedro's clay-limestone soils at 65 meters elevation—positioned 20 kilometers from both the Atlantic Ocean and Bussaco mountains. This 2020 Baga selects from 20 small plots, vinified separately with indigenous yeasts and 20-30% whole clusters, then aged two winters in barrels and oak vats plus one year in bottle before release. At 13% alcohol with pH 3.04, the wine shows herbal notes, elegant tannins, and maritime freshness that define this village-level expression—20,000 bottles bottled February 2023.
