Founded in 2005 by Luís Patrão and Eduarda Dias in Bairrada's Poutena village, Vadio Wines farms 10 hectares organically across 13 vineyards with viticulture led by Luís's father, Dinis Patrão. This 2014 Baga comes exclusively from Vale de Dom Pedro's clay-limestone soils 120 miles north of Lisbon, where Atlantic influence delivers the region's characteristic freshness. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness from multiple plots, the grapes ferment naturally with indigenous yeasts and age 18 months in used barrels, yielding elegant aromatics, delicate palate weight, bright acidity, and fine polished tannins that express limestone's distinctive texture in Bairrada's classic style.
