UCCELLIERA ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 2023

In 1986, Andrea Cortonesi bought the Uccelliera estate from Ciacci Piccolomini and built one of Montalcino's most respected small producers from the ground up. His vineyards in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Montalcino's southeast corner, sit at 150–350 meters on clay, sand, and iron-rich soils under practicing organic farming. Fruit comes exclusively from Brunello-designated plots, cold-macerated and fermented with native yeasts over 25–30 days before oak aging. The 2023 Rosso delivers dark cherry, dried herbs, and iron-tinged earth with firm tannins and a long, savory finish.
