Merlot is the dominant grape of Bordeaux's Right Bank, but Tua Rita's Redigaffi — grown on the iron-rich clay and schist soils of Suvereto in the Maremma — shows what Tuscany can do with it. The 2019 vintage benefited from a mild spring and a sun-driven summer tempered by well-timed rains that moderated phenolic ripening. Fermented and aged in French oak, the wine delivers concentrated black cherry, leather, tar, and baking spice, with a full, layered mid-palate and a long, structured finish built for cellaring.
