Long maceration in traditional open-top tini followed by extended aging in large-format Slavonian oak botte is what gives this single-vineyard Brunello its architecture. The Soccorso vineyard sits at 500 meters near Montalcino's walls, where well-drained galestro soils and elevation push Sangiovese Grosso toward structure and finesse over weight. Enzo Tiezzi, a veteran with deep roots in Montalcino viticulture, produces this cuvée in limited quantities. Expect dried Marasca cherry, wild currant, and a hint of tobacco, with fine-grained tannins and a long, mineral-edged finish.
