THE MACALLAN SHERRY OAK 18 YEAR OLD

The Macallan has sourced oak from northern Spanish forests since the distillery's early decades, air-drying staves and seasoning casks for 18 months in Jerez before they ever see new-make spirit. The 18 Year Old Sherry Oak matures exclusively in those hand-picked sherry-seasoned casks, which the distillery credits with driving up to 80% of the whisky's final character. Bottled at 43% ABV, it pours a light mahogany and delivers treacle tart, stem ginger, dark chocolate, dates, and dried apricot, finishing long with vanilla sweetness and a soft oak warmth.
