The Last Drop Distillers was founded in London on a single premise: some barrels are too extraordinary to remain unknown. Their releases are selected by hand, released in lots of under 1,000 bottles, and built around collaborations with the world's most respected distilleries. Release No. 37 marks another chapter in their ongoing partnership with Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky — one of America's most decorated distilleries, producing bourbon on the same site since 1787.
Master Blender Drew Mayville and Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley handpicked and married three barrels distilled between 1995 and 1997, aged for up to 27 years in Buffalo Trace's legendary rickhouses, and bottled at 60.9% ABV — one of only 508 bottles produced worldwide. The nose opens with seasoned oak, Medjool dates, and dark cherry; the palate builds through caramel, dark chocolate, tobacco, and supple leather before a long, warming finish of dried fruit and tingling oak spice.
