SUNTORY YAMAZAKI GOLDEN PROMISE 2024 ED

Golden Promise is a heritage Scottish barley variety — low-yielding, high in fermentable sugars, and largely abandoned by commercial distillers in favor of higher-crop modern strains, making it unusual raw material for any single malt. Yamazaki uses it here as part of the 2024 Tsukuriwake Selection, which spotlights craft through deliberate variation in base material and production. Aging in American oak draws out vanilla and honey on the nose, while the palate runs toward orange marmalade and creamy custard, finishing long with lingering citrus and sweet malt.
