SIGNATORY VINTAGE BUNNAHABHAIN 2014 7YR STAOISHA HEAVILY PEATED CASK STRENGTH

Signatory Vintage bottled this single cask (#10607) Bunnahabhain Staoisha from Islay — the distillery's heavily peated variant, built on high-phenol malt rather than Bunnahabhain's traditional unpeated style. Distilled October 20, 2014 and bottled June 15, 2022, it spent seven years in a dechar/rechar hogshead, a process that strips the interior char and reburns it to caramelize exposed wood sugars. Bottled at cask strength 57.7% ABV, non-chill filtered with natural color, just 158 bottles were produced. Briny minerality and crushed seashells lead the nose, followed by smoked honey, black pepper, and a long salted coastal finish.
