SEGAL'S CABERNET SAUVIGNON SPECIAL RESERVE 2023

When Yankel Hirsh Segal's sons established Israel's first distillery in Tel Aviv's German colony of Sharona in the 1920s, wine was still decades away — the family pivoted to winemaking in 1954, eventually becoming Segal Wines under Barkan Group ownership in 2001 while retaining independent production. This 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon draws from the Dishon Vineyard in the Kadesh Valley, Upper Galilee, where elevation and a pronounced diurnal shift preserve acidity in the fruit. Extended post-fermentation maceration builds structure before fourteen months in French and American oak, yielding dark cherry, cedar, and a firm, tannic finish.
