Nearly four centuries of continuous farming under one family name — Weingut Rudolf Fürst has worked Bürgstadt in Franken since 1638, with Sebastian and Isabell Fürst now running 21 hectares under organic and partially biodynamic practices. The Bürgstadter Berg sits on a sharp bend of the Main River, sheltered by the Odenwald and Spessart forests, with warm microclimate conditions and red Buntsandstein soils carrying higher loam on the eastern slopes. This VDP Erste Lage Pinot Blanc ferments spontaneously in Burgundy barriques and 500-liter tonneaux, aging 18 months on full lees before a second winter in stainless. Ripe pear, white peach, citrus zest, hazelnut, and flint lead into a salty, chalky finish.
