Description of Product
Founded in 1847 by George Ross, Lawrenceburg's historic Rossville Distillery established this town as America's rye whiskey capital through masterful distillation expertise. Its position along the Ohio River provided trade advantages, while sitting atop a limestone aquifer delivered pure water free from flavor-diminishing minerals. Beginning modestly, Rossville expanded to 60,000-barrel capacity by 1902, dominating when rye constituted 96% of American spirits consumption. Today's Rossville Union honors this heritage with remarkable complexity and pronounced spice notes balanced by subtle sweetness. The palate presents warm cinnamon, black pepper, and nutmeg complemented by dried fruit and caramel hints, culminating in a long, satisfying finish with gentle oak influence—a perfect representation of authentic American rye tradition.
