Jean-Claude Rouzaud of Champagne Louis Roederer spent years searching California's diverse regions before selecting Anderson Valley's 580-acre estate in 1982, recognizing that the cool coastal climate and gravelly loam soils mirrored Champagne's ideal conditions for world-class sparkling wine production using sustainable, organic, and biodynamic practices. Since the first 1988 vintage, Roederer Estate has become what The New York Times calls "a gold standard for California sparkling wine," now guided by son Frédéric Rouzaud. This Brut—approximately 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir aged minimum two years on the yeast—delivers crisp elegance with complex pear, citrus, hazelnut, and lemon custard flavors layered with cinnamon and mineral notes, finishing vibrant and refreshing with impeccable balance at 13.5% ABV.
