Fresh sour cherry, dried herbs, and a flick of iron open this Sangiovese, grounded in the alberese calcareous marl soils of Granaio estate in Chianti Classico. Sitting at 360 meters between Castellina and San Donato, the rocky, calcium-rich terrain forces deep rooting and produces naturally lean, balanced fruit even in dry vintages. Refreshing acidity carries through the mid-palate alongside a firm but pleasant tannic grip, closing with a clean, savory finish. Poderi Melini has farmed this site since 1969, making it one of the longer-running estates in the denomination.
