PLUMPJACK RESERVE CHARDONNAY 2023

Two organically and sustainably farmed Napa Valley vineyards anchor this Chardonnay — one in cool Los Carneros, one in warmer St. Helena — running 10–15°F apart in average temperature, which gives winemaker Aaron Miller a wider palette of fruit and acidity to work with. PlumpJack, founded in 1995 on a historic Oakville estate, bottled this at 14.2% ABV with no malolactic fermentation, preserving bright natural acidity. Fermentation and aging split between 67% stainless steel and 33% French oak Burgundy barrels at 52–54°F. Lemon, Granny Smith apple, and wet stone layer over cantaloupe, nectarine, and honeysuckle, finishing tangy and creamy.
