PLUMPJACK ESTATE OAKVILLE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2022

Founded by Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty in 1995, PlumpJack farms its organically and sustainably managed 42-acre Oakville estate on clay-rich valley floor soils flanked by the Vaca Mountains—land with winemaking roots dating to 1881. Winemaker Aaron Miller cold-soaked the 2022 blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot for up to six days before 20 months in 73% new French oak. The result delivers cassis, blueberry compote, and cherry on the nose with layers of dark fruit preserves, cocoa, and warming spice, finishing with lightly chewy, well-integrated tannins.
