Citrus blossom, white peach, and a streak of saline minerality open this Riesling, pointing straight to the chalk and limestone soils of Schoenenbourg Grand Cru in Ribeauvillé. One of Alsace's oldest classified sites, Schoenenbourg's calcareous marl and gypsum-rich subsoil push a taut mineral spine through the fruit. Pierre Sparr, farming the appellation since 1680, works this Grand Cru to deliver the characteristic dry, structured profile Riesling achieves at altitude in this part of the Vosges foothills. Citrus pith and crushed stone carry through the finish with clean, lingering length.
