Les Monts Damnés—"the damned mountains"—takes its name from the punishing gradient of its pure limestone slope in Chavignol, a south-facing site so steep that working it by hand has always been the only option. Pascal Cotat's practicing organic vines exceed 45 years of age, fermented on indigenous yeasts in very old demi-muids and aged in old barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered in the uncompromising traditional style the Cotat family has maintained since 1947. The 2024 delivers the site's hallmark: a tighter, more mineral and chiseled profile than La Grande Côte, with limestone-driven tension, citrus pith, and exceptional aging potential.
