OPUS ONE 2022

Opus One is the Napa Valley collaboration between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, producing a single red blend from Oakville's To Kalon and surrounding estate vineyards. The 2022 grew through a wet winter and scorching harvest season, with crews picking August 24–September 26 to lock in freshness before heat damage. The blend runs 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 6.5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, and 0.5% Malbec, with 20-day skin contact and 18 months in new French oak. Blueberry, cassis, dried rose, and graphite open to cocoa and orange peel, finishing with wet stone, vanilla, and fine-grained tannins.
