Cinnamon, caramel, and tobacco leaf hit first, followed by anise, espresso, and cola-like dark fruit — a profile that traces directly to 40 botanicals, among them wormwood quassia, summer savory, and dittany. The base is a blend of Trebbiano from Emilia-Romagna and Catarratto from Sicily, fortified with brandy and colored a deep scarlet by natural caramel. Artemisia — the wormwood genus that defines all true vermouth — is cultivated and harvested just a few miles from the Pessione production facility outside Turin, where Martini & Rossi has made this Rosso since 1863.
