In late 2013, master distiller Willie Pratt re-released the US★1 Unblended American Whiskey after a nearly three-year hiatus, declaring it "the best it's ever been." Made in Kentucky, this whiskey is aged in previously used, whiskey-soaked barrels rather than new oak — a deliberate departure from bourbon and rye requirements that defines its character. No grain neutral spirits enter the blend, keeping the "unblended" designation intact. The result delivers butterscotch, vanilla, and caramel upfront, with dried and ripened fruit on a warm, rounded finish.
