Toffee, buttery vanilla, and orange peel hit first, then a campfire-toasted mid-palate deepens into cherry and baking spice — all of it shaped by a two-stage maturation that's central to what Michter's does with this release. The whiskey starts in fire-charred new American white oak, then moves into custom secondary barrels built from 18-month air-dried wood and toasted (not charred) to a specific level chosen after extensive evaluation by Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. Bottled at 86 proof, it's a small-batch Kentucky sour mash.
