MICHTER'S 10 YEAR SINGLE BARREL RYE WHISKEY

In 1753, Swiss Mennonite settlers in Pennsylvania distilled what became one of America's earliest commercial whiskeys — a lineage Michter's credits as its founding story. The 10 Year Single Barrel Rye is a Kentucky Straight Rye entered into barrel at a low 103 proof, then aged a full decade in barrels made from 18-month air-seasoned American oak. Kentucky's limestone-filtered water works through the maturation period alongside the distillery's temperature-cycling rickhouses. The result pours with buttery vanilla, English toffee, and toasted almond, then shifts toward cracked black pepper and orange zest on a spiced, lingering finish.
