Pioneer California winemaker Merry Edwards founded her Russian River Valley winery in 1997 after working Mount Eden in 1974 and Matanzas Creek from 1977-1984, earning James Beard's Best Wine Professional award in 2013 before Louis Roederer acquired the estate in 2019. This certified sustainable and organic Sauvignon Blanc undergoes whole cluster pressing, barrel fermentation, and five months sur lie aging in 18% new French oak from hand-picked, field-sorted grapes across five estate vineyards—Coopersmith, Cresta d'Oro, Flax, Georganne, and Meredith—in the Sebastopol Hills.
Meyer lemon, white pineapple, lime zest, white blossoms, yellow stone fruit, marzipan, and lemongrass define the aromatic profile, while silky yet lively texture reflects both the barrel fermentation's richness and Russian River's cool Pacific fog influence that preserves bright acidity in Sonoma's moderate maritime climate.
