Dark cherry, iron filings, and a trace of crushed stone announce the glass before the wine even opens up — hallmarks of Corton's iron-rich, brown limestone soils on the hill's south-facing slopes. Les Perrières is a Premier Cru lieu-dit on the Côte de Beaune where shallow topsoil over hard rock drives concentration and a firmer tannic spine than most village-level Burgundy. Méo Camuzet harvests by hand, uses minimal intervention in the cellar, and ages in well-chosen barrels to preserve that structural precision. The finish is long, mineral, and quietly powerful.
