Artemisia — specifically wormwood grown and harvested near Pessione in Piedmont — anchors the botanical blend that defines Martini & Rossi Rosso. The base wine is sweetened and colored with caramel during blending, a process that produces the vermouth's characteristic deep red hue without added dyes. Up to 40 botanicals contribute to the final formula, which the house has kept proprietary since its founding in Pessione. In the glass, expect a sweet, herbal profile with orange peel, vanilla, and bitter spice — built for Negronis and Manhattans but equally sound over ice.
