MAELI D+ COLLI EUGANEI RISERVA 2019

Carmenère rarely anchors a Riserva-level red in northeastern Italy, but Maeli built this Colli Euganei blend around it alongside Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Colli Euganei DOC sits on volcanic hills rising from the Veneto plain south of Padua, where basalt and trachyte soils give the wines a mineral grip uncommon in the broader region. Extended wood aging drives the wine toward blueberry, dried cherry, cinnamon, clove, and cocoa, with a silky tannic structure that keeps the palate concentrated without going heavy. The finish is long and balanced.
