The Lisini-Clementi family has held land in Montalcino since the sixteenth century, with the estate's historic tower dating to the 1300s and first vines planted in the 1930s. Sustainably farmed and guided today by winemaker Paolo Salvi—a protégé of the late Giulio Gambelli—the 20 hectares surrounding Sant'Angelo in Colle sit at 300–350 meters, south-facing toward the Maremma with exceptional ventilation. Massal-selection Sangiovese vinifies in glass-lined cement for up to 26 days, then ages 42 months in large Slavonian oak. The 2021 scores 97 points (Wine Spectator): ripe cherry, pomegranate, violet, and wild herb with dusty tannins and a finish built for decades. Best from 2029–2048.
