LE RAGNAIE BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO PASO DEL LUME SPENTO 2019

Paso del Lume Spento — "step of the extinguished light" — is Le Ragnaie's single-vineyard Brunello from a parcel at roughly 550 meters in Petroso, among the highest and coolest sites in the entire appellation. Where most Brunello producers work warmer south-facing slopes, this north-facing high-altitude plot produces Sangiovese Grosso with slower phenolic ripening and sharper natural acidity. Riccardo Campinoti farms organically and ages the wine in large Slavonian oak casks per Brunello tradition. Expect dried cherry, iron, dried herbs, and firm, fine-grained tannins with a long mineral finish.
