Franciacorta's glacial morainic soils, deposited by ancient Alpine glaciers across the hillsides south of Lake Iseo in Lombardy, are what make this DOCG Italy's most credible answer to Champagne — and Lantieri de Paratico is one of the appellation's longstanding estate producers. The Brut blends Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, undergoes traditional method secondary fermentation in bottle, and spends extended time on the lees before disgorgement.
