Lanciola's Le Masse di Greve Riserva comes from 10 ideally situated hectares at 300 meters elevation in the heart of Chianti Classico, where southwest-facing Sangiovese vines benefit from galestro and alberese soils—the rocky, mineral-rich terrain that defines this historic appellation between Florence and Siena. The Masse di Greve cru in Greve's hillside vineyards is renowned for producing structured, age-worthy Sangiovese with exceptional balance. This 2016 Riserva pours intense ruby-red with burgundy hues and offers a full, sweet bouquet of ripe fruit, vanilla, and spicy phenolic notes. The palate shows medium tannic structure with initial fruitiness, full mid-palate weight, bright acidity, and persistent finish.
