LAGAVULIN 12 YEARS OLD SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY SPECIAL RELEASE 2025 GRAIN & EMBERS

Lagavulin distillery on Islay has been producing heavily peated single malt since 1816, and this 12-year-old 2025 Special Release matured in refill casks alongside Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso-seasoned European oak butts. The PX and Oloroso influence layers dried fruit — raisins, figs, dates — over the distillery's signature smoldering peat and maritime character: wood ash, oyster shell, and sea salt. The texture is lightly oily with a savory-spicy mid-palate, and the finish runs long and drying with lingering peat, salt, and a thread of chili pepper spice.
