Description of Product
Kutch Wines' Sonoma Coast Chardonnay comes exclusively from Bohan Vineyard's Goldridge sandy loam soils at 1,400 feet elevation, just 3.05 miles from the Pacific Ocean, where the extreme maritime terroir and high-altitude exposure create ideal conditions for structured, savory Chardonnay. Fourth-generation farmers Nikki and George Bohan tend this dry-farmed, own-rooted vineyard planted in 1972, with former Wall Street trader Jamie Kutch employing minimal intervention winemaking including 100% whole cluster pressing, indigenous yeast fermentation, and aging in French oak barrels with 20% new wood. This 2020 vintage expresses structured and savory character with a decidedly old California feel, showcasing the mineral-driven elegance that defines this remote Sonoma Coast site's unique terroir.
