KUMEU RIVER CHARDONNAY HUNTING HILL 2022

West Auckland's Kumeu district sits close enough to the Tasman Sea that maritime breezes moderate what would otherwise be a warm, humid growing season — and Kumeu River has been coaxing Burgundian-grade Chardonnay from these soils since the Brajkovich family planted Hunting Hill in 1982. The vineyard's clay soils retain moisture and slow ripening, feeding the wine's characteristic texture and salinity. Fermented and aged in French oak, it delivers yellow peach, apricot, beeswax, and ripe lime with a fleshy, mouthfilling weight balanced by firm, juicy acidity and a long, saline finish. Sealed under screwcap at 13.5% ABV.
