After training at Château Latour and Comte Armand, Jean-Baptiste Souillard launched his micro-négociant label in 2014, working from a family farmhouse in Andance to produce single-parcel Northern Rhône Syrah under sustainable viticulture. Saint-Pierre draws from early-2000s vines at 400 meters on south-facing slopes over deeply weathered, biotite-rich granite with schistose fabric — a site considered too cold to plant until 2000, ripening two to three weeks after other Cornas parcels. Whole-cluster fermentation at 40–100% and 16–20 months in used barrels shape a wine of black olive, smoked meat, dark plum, and crushed stone with bright acidity and structured tannins that reward extended decanting.
