Jean-Baptiste Souillard founded his micro-négociant operation in 2014 in Andance after training at Château Latour and Comte Armand, working from his family's 1900 farmhouse to produce single-parcel Northern Rhône wines using sustainable viticulture. Saint-Pierre comes from early 2000s vines planted at 400 meters elevation on south-facing slopes over deeply weathered biotite-rich granite with metamorphosed schistose fabric—considered too cold to plant until 2000, ripening 2-3 weeks after other Cornas sites. Aged 16-20 months in used barrels with 40-100% whole clusters, this late-harvest Syrah delivers black olive, smoked meat, crushed stone, and dark plum with mineral tension, bright acidity, and structured tannins demanding extended decanting.
