Triple-cask maturation is common in Scotch but rare in Irish whiskey — Jameson's Triple Triple breaks from the category by finishing in bourbon, sherry, and chestnut barrels, with that last wood being the genuinely unusual element. Distilled at Midleton Distillery in Cork using Jameson's standard triple distillation, the whiskey picks up vanilla and toffee from bourbon casks, dried-fruit depth from sherry, and a distinct hazelnut-chocolate character from chestnut. The palate runs creamy and medium-weight, with orchard fruit, toasted almond, and gentle spice, closing on a smooth, lingering finish of dark chocolate and oak.
