Founded in 1956 by Francesco De Marchi in Chianti Classico's western sector near Castellina, Isole e Olena farms 56 organically certified hectares at 350-450 meters elevation on galestro and marly schist soils. Paolo De Marchi took over in 1975, revolutionizing viticulture through massal selection and soil mapping, becoming a pioneer of the region's quality renaissance and creator of Supertuscan Cepparello in 1980. This 2022 Chardonnay Collezione Privata shows light greenish gold color with toasted buttery almond, spice from oak aging, ripe fruit, fresh bread crust, and a long citrus finish that balances Tuscany's warmth with high-altitude freshness.
