Gentil is Alsace's field-blend tradition revived — a dry, co-fermented or blended white built from Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Sylvaner, where no single grape dominates. Hugel, based in Riquewihr and farming sustainably across 13 generations, draws from the region's mix of sandstone, limestone, and clay soils that sit in the rain shadow of the Vosges Mountains. The result is floral and aromatic — lychee, rose petal, pear — with a dry, mineral-edged palate, bright citrus acidity, and a clean finish that keeps it versatile at the table.
