GUIDO BERTA MOSCATO D'ASTI 2023

San Marzano Oliveto sits inside what growers call the golden triangle of the Asti appellation, and the Berta family bought their 25-hectare farm here specifically to grow fruit rather than buy it. Guido took the estate over in 1997 and built his own cellar. The Moscato comes off clay-limestone soils from vines averaging around 35 years, and fermentation is stopped early — the whole trick of Moscato d'Asti, which is what leaves the low alcohol, the gentle fizz and the sugar. Straw-yellow with fine bubbles: peach, apricot and orange blossom, sweet but never heavy.
