GOLAN HEIGHTS WINERY YARDEN MERLOT 2021

Eighteen months in 40% new French oak shapes this Merlot's structure, integrating ripe fruit with the kind of tannin backbone the Golan Heights' elevation and volcanic soils naturally support. Golan Heights Winery, founded in 1983 by eight kibbutzim and moshavim, draws fruit for this bottling from central and northern Golan Heights vineyards plus one Upper Galilee site with two decades of proven Merlot performance. Elevations ranging from 400 to 1,200 meters and dramatic temperature swings preserve acidity across the volcanic basalt soils. Ripe plum, dark cherry, chocolate, and herbal notes carry through to a mineral-edged finish. Bottled kosher for Passover, non-mevushal.
