GAJA DAGROMIS BAROLO 2021

When Angelo Gaja's son-in-law Giovanni Minetti took over Dagromis operations, the label became Gaja's vehicle for blending Nebbiolo across two contrasting Barolo communes farmed sustainably. Clay-dominant soils in Serralunga d'Alba contribute structure and weight, while limestone-rich slopes in La Morra add perfume and lift. Each vineyard lot is aged separately in oak, then blended and given further aging before release. The wine opens with ripe plum, wild berry, and rose, with sweet licorice and balsamic notes, then soft tannins carry through to a violet-tinged finish.
