GAJA CA MARCANDA VISTAMARE TOSCANA BIANCO 2021

Angelo Gaja's Ca Marcanda planted Vermentino, Viognier, and Fiano on hillside sites above the Tyrrhenian coast in Bolgheri, where marine breezes and luminous Mediterranean sun define the growing season. Vistamare — ironically named for the sea-view premium in real estate — first appeared in 2009 and remains one of the few serious whites from this corner of Tuscany. The blend ferments and ages in a combination of stainless steel and oak, producing a wine with chamomile, grapefruit, and stone fruit aromatics, a creamy yet refreshing palate, and a saline, lingering finish.
