Cherry, raspberry, and blood orange hit first, underscored by herbs, cinnamon, myrtle, and graphite — then fine-grained tannins and a saline finish pull everything into focus. That precision traces back to Bolgheri's limestone-rich white soils threaded with clay and stone, which Angelo Gaja acquired through years of negotiation before production began in 2000. In 2019, a cold winter gave way to spring rains that recharged moisture, followed by heat that broke late, allowing balanced ripening. After separate varietal fermentations, the wine aged 12 months in oak and 6 months in concrete before blending.
