G.B. BURLOTTO LANGHE BARBERA D'ALBA 2024

Dark cherry and dried plum lead, backed by an iron-tinged, earthy depth that telegraphs the calcareous marl below. G.B. Burlotto sources this Barbera from Verduno's L'Urdiä vineyard — 0.77 hectares of laminated Cassano Spinola marl at 360 meters with western exposure, the same fossil-rich limestone defining neighboring Barolo sites. Hand-harvested fruit ferments in open French oak vats and stainless steel with daily extraction, then ages in large French oak barrels before late-summer bottling. Bright acidity lifts the mid-palate, while tannins stay fine-grained and the finish carries a mineral, slightly spiced persistence.
