G.B. Burlotto has cultivated Verduno's historic slopes since the 19th century, where the northernmost reaches of Barolo's appellation meet calcareous soils formed during the Tortonian and Messinian eras—laminated Sant'Agata fossil marls and Cassano Spinola formations that balance clay, sand, and silt for ideal water retention in these pale, chalky hillside vineyards. This Acclivi 2021 represents a rigorous selection of 100% Nebbiolo from the estate's oldest Guyot-trained vines across Monvigliero, Neirane, Rocche dell'Olmo, and Boscatto crus, fermented in open French oak vats with gentle extraction, then aged 20-33 months in large Allier barrels. The wine offers crystalline purity, revealing rose petal, tar, red cherry, and truffle aromatics with a luminous, graceful structure—Verduno's signature elegance bottled.
